No dice: Ferguson rules out re-signing Ronaldo

The veteran coach suggested it would take “incredible amounts of money” for Madrid to sell the player.

MAN UNITED MANAGER Alex Ferguson has dismissed the possibility of the club re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo in the near future, describing the Real Madrid man as “unbuyable”.

Ferguson claims the player is far too expensive for the majority of clubs to sign.

“You’re talking about incredible amounts of money now,” he told reporters.

“What would you think his value would be? He’s definitely unbuyable.

“Who could afford to buy him? There’s talk of the Russians, perhaps. But do you think he would go to Russia?

“He complained about the weather here, let alone the middle of winter in Russia.

“He was definitely good value for Madrid but he always wanted to play for them, it was his boyhood dream.”

Ronaldo scored 117 goals during his time at United, and has continued his incredible goalscoring record at Real Madrid, though he was unusually quiet last night, failing to score, despite Real Madrid beating Athletic Bilbao 5-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
