ALAN SHEARER HAS a bit of a reputation. As a player, he was pretty one-dimensional. No flair, just relentlessly explosiveness in front of goal.
Similarly, since becoming a pundit with the BBC, heโs come in for criticism for his lack of personality and charisma. His collection of grey cardigans a seemingly perfect metaphor.
But, in a bizarre turnaround, it seems weโve had him all wrong for a while.
The former Newcastle and Blackburn striker, whose record of 260 Premier League goals will take some beating, took his first tentative steps into the world of social media world four days ago when he joined Twitter.
Many expected a collection of bland tweets to follow but instead, he got straight down to business with some epic bantz.
Heโs well able for the inevitable abuse too, reveling in his new-found online persona.
Newcastleโs travails this season have provided Shearer with plenty of material and there were more Magpie-related zingers earlier today.
And, tapping into a recent phenomenon, Shearer also loves an emoji to go along with any one-liner.
Alan Shearer: legendary goalscorer and now, legendary Twitter personality.
Would be Unitedโs luck to draw them and get put out
Theyโre destined to meet id say
Europa League is probably a good option for Valencia right now. They wouldโve been outclassed in the Champions League if not in the Last 16 then in the Quarters. The Europa League should provide them with a good challenge and with a little investment and good coaching they may go on to do very well in the tournament.
Best of luck to them.
Sure with Gent beating Zenit it wouldnโt of mattered if they won or not. I wouldnโt read into it too much
Needs to take off the corporate suit and wear a team tracksuit on the sideline
Totally agree, that would make his team play better and win more games without a doubtโฆโฆ NOT
Most manager in the champions lesgue wear suits. .
One game in charge and has Valencia in Europa league, itโs taken Van Gal a year and half to get UTD in.
Couldnโt have gone through even if they won. Still a bad result though
