EARLIER IN THE SEASON it looked a certainty that Alan Pardew would be sacked as Newcastle boss but now, after steering them into the top half of the table following a revival in form, the much maligned manager looks set to take up the vacancy at Crystal Palace.
According to reports in The Guardian and The Telegraph, the two clubs have agreed a compensation fee that will see Pardew move to the Londoners. That means that he wouldn’t see out the final six years on the eight year contract he signed back in 2012.
Pardew’s time in Newcastle has been tumultuous and even this season fans of The Magpies have routinely brought banners to games that demanded his sacking.
If Pardew joins Crystal Palace, he wouldn’t exactly be taking over the most stable club in the world.
