Chelsea recall defender to aid title push

Antonio Conte has exercised the option to bring back Nathan Ake.

PREMIER LEAGUE LEADERS Chelsea have recalled defender Nathan Ake midway through his season-long loan spell at Bournemouth.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form for the Cheeries – scoring three goals in his 12 appearances – including a last-gasp winner to complete Bournemouth’s sensational turnaround against title-chasing Liverpool last month, but could now face the prospect of helping Antonio Conte’s side to maintain their position at the top of the table.

The Dutch U21 international missed Bournemouth’s surprise FA Cup defeat at Millwall on Saturday, and therefore is not cup-tied for the competition.

The Stamford Bridge club currently have 37 other players out on loan.
