PREMIER DIVISION LEADERS Sligo Rovers were left frustrated tonight after only managing a 0-0 draw away to Bray Wanderers.
The Bit O’Red, who top the table with five fixtures remaining, began the game well as Mark Quigley continued his excellent form during the first half.
Referee Anthony Buttimer waved away two Sligo penalty shouts before the break and while one looked a good call, Rafael Cretaro was clearly fouled inside the box.
When the sides re-emerged after the interval, it was Bray who brought the game to their opponents and Shane O’Connor wasn’t far away after linking up brilliantly with Jason Byrne.
Both Gary Rodgers and Darren Quigley were called into action in the latter stages but commanded their line confidently to deny a series of goalbound efforts.
At the final whistle, it remained scoreless meaning Sligo open up a seven-point gap on Drogheda while Bray put eight between themselves and bottom-placed Dundalk.
