AIDEN MCGEADY IS reportedly undergoing a medical at Sheffield Wednesday this evening ahead of a possible loan move.
The Ireland winger has featured just once for the Toffees this season, in the Capital One Cup back in August, and is set to leave in search first team football with Euro 2016 four months away.
La Liga side Sevilla were linked with the 29-year-old earlier this week but Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that two Championship clubs have agreed terms.
“It seems very close,” said Martinez. “We’ve agreed terms with two teams in the Championship. It’s just a matter of time before one of the deals is clinched.
Aiden needs to play and it’s a really good opportunity for him to do that in a very demanding fixture list for a team that can get a really good tempo into Aiden for the Euros.
“That will make sure he comes back having had a good period of football and of having an impact for whichever team he joins.”
And both Sky Sports and local reporter Dom Howson are reporting that McGeady is in Sheffield tonight.
The Owls, who lost 3-2 to Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup yesterday, are currently seventh in England’s second tier.
Looks like jack grealish will have company when he is minding Ciaran Clarke’s gaff in June.
That’s a bit more realistic than Sevilla! Hopefully he’ll get some game time
Alan judge at 3/1 has to be a serious bet to make the Squad for the Euros now.
Where u getting them odds?
Seriously it’s free money.. Tell us
Yeah tell us
He’s simply not good enough on a consistent basis otherwise he wouldn’t be dropping down a division. I like McGeady but wouldn’t have him in my first 11
Good move for him, really needs to play so that he’s good off the bench at the Euros.
Pity to have to see a player of McGeadys quality have to go to the Championship to get games. Definitely Prem quality
Could have been worse, he could have gone back the the Scottish Premier League.
I really struggle to see how he could be defined as quality. If he were quality, he wouldn’t be moving to the Championship. Never understood the fuss about McGeady.
The Championship is one of the most competitive leagues in the world.
Agreed, there has to be a time you fulfill the so called potential. He never has which means he was overrated to start with
Amazed he couldn’t find a PL club that needed a two footed magician, but there ya go!
Aye, the kind of magician that makes any chance of a decent cross disappear!
Journal.
Where is the report on the Celtic match today? We need to hear about Irelands favourite team.
Maybe Jeremy knows?
beaten 3-1 man sent off missed a penalty and where 1 up in the first minute but I suggest you know that and are just being a kaunt mark
Good mam Paul. I enjoyed that!
thanks ronan he’s a dick that mark.
Mr dunne you are in top form tonight!
ah jack you know I have no time for bull shite.
I for one for obvious reasons would love to see him at Hillsborough. Good addition to the squad.
Don’t understand try to play outside of England, considering too the Premier League seems as if it’s falling back in terms of quality never mind the championship
He’s shown before that he’s willing to go abroad.I guess this time there weren’t any European clubs interested. You also need to consider his wages. The only continental sides that could afford them won’t need him.
Are you suggesting Sheffield weds are paying him the same as Everton were ? Cos I don’t think so
Will be great if he does well and brings positive form to the summer..
Thanks for your time paul!
Lovely report, Real emotion,I like it!!
your welcome anytime mark.
Except for now….Or now….Or now….Or even now.
He played very well for Ireland when played in the last qualifying campaign. Shame he couldn’t get any game time at Everton when, for me, he was playing his best football for Ireland.
Main thing is he’s getting game time.
I feel Spain would have suited his style more but once he’s playing regularly I think O’Neill will bring him to France
I really think only sides in La Liga who could pay his wages wouldn’t him.
Stupid phone. The only sides in La Liga who could afford his wages wouldn’t want him. Average players earn a lot in England.
Probably true but on a loan deal surely they would just pay a percentage of his wages? Either way, hope he gets plenty of game time
