Aguero injury is more serious than initially suspected

The Manchester City striker tore his hamstring in the win over Stoke City.

MANCHESTER CITY STRIKER Sergio Aguero confirmed on Saturday that he has suffered a torn hamstring and is likely to miss next weekend’s Premier League trip to Arsenal.

It had been thought that the Argentine international had merely pulled the hamstring in the recent 3-0 league win over Stoke City.

“Studies confirmed I have a torn muscle. We have to think positive and try to recover in the best way possible,” the Argentine international wrote on his Twitter account.

“For that, I’ve travelled to Italy where a specialist is treating me. I’ll keep you up to date.”

Aguero, who has 10 goals this season, missed the 3-0 win over Watford in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

City won the match thanks to goals from Carlos Tevez, Gareth Barry and 17-year-old newcomer Marcos Lopes.
