Abidal cleared for Barca comeback

The 33-year-old has started training again after recovering from his liver transplant.

BARCELONA’S ERIC ABIDAL has been given the all-clear to play for the club’s first team in the after recovering from his liver transplant.

Following a positive recuperation since his operation, doctors have decided the fullback is ready to for a return to competitive football.

Abidal, 33, has already started training and could now link up with coach Tito Vilanova again and the first team.

The exact date of his return is yet to be determined, however it is thought the France international could be back in action as early as January.

Abidal will be reintroduced gradually as the club are not prepared to take any unnecessary risks in his return.
