Saturday’s epic extra-time draw between Galway and Clare saw Banner attacker Peter Duggan claim the RTÉ man-of-the-match award while Tribesmen defender Padraig Mannion got the vote of the Sky Sports jury. Duggan struck 0-14 – 0-11 from placed balls – as Clare secured a replay while Mannion excelled in defence for Galway.
Yesterday it was the turn of Limerick attacker Aaron Gillane to claim the awards with both RTÉ and Sky Sports selecting the Patrickswell man, who shot 0-13 over the course of the contest.
Limerick’s super sub Shane Dowling, who bagged 1-4, and Cork’s Daniel Kearney, who hit 0-3 from play, were also nominated by The Sunday Game panel last night.
