The GAA community rallies around as Derry footballer Aaron Devlin remains on life support

The 22-year-old is in intensive care with ‘an aggressive strain of meningitis’.

THE GAA COMMUNITY all around the country have been offering their support to former Derry footballer Aaron Devlin, who remains in intensive care after falling ill on Friday.

Aaron, the brother of Derry’s Coilin, has been involved with the senior panel in recent seasons, and had been a key player with his club, Ballinderry Shamrocks.

He began feeling unwell after playing a match midweek, before being rushed to hospital on Friday and placed on life-support.

A further update from UUJ this evening says that it’s been confirmed that the 22-year-old has suffered an aggressive strain on meningitis.

All weekend, the GAA community around Ireland have been rallying around Derry, Ballinderry and Jordanstown GAA, offering messages of support to those affected.
