THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION has confirmed that this year’s FA Cup final between Manchester City and Wigan Athletic will kick-off at 5.15pm.
It is the second successive year that the showpiece has been shifted from its traditional start time of 3pm, a move designed to boost television viewing figures.
This year’s final will take place at Wembley Stadium on 11 May. With both finalists hailing from England’s north-west, fans hoped to avoid an evening kick-off which could present problems for supporters travelling home from London that night.
