1. James McCarthy and Roberto Martinez from Wigan to Everton
As long as Martinez moves too, we can’t see this being anything but a positive move both for the midfielder and for Ireland.
If Everton can keep the majority of their current squad together, the addition of McCarthy could be the missing piece that allows them challenge for a top four spot.

2. Falcao from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea
To be honest, we’d take Falcao moving to anywhere other than Monaco but, as a replacement for the ineffectual Torres, it makes a lot of sense.
The Colombian is probably the hottest property in football right now and, whoever signs him, is almost certainly buying 20 league goals a season.

3. Asmir Begović from Stoke City to Arsenal
With no Tony Pulis, you have to worry about Stoke’s Premier League future.
Begović certainly has what it takes to play Europa or Champions League football but will a top four team be willing to take a punt on the Bosnian?

4. Leighton Baines from Everton to Manchester United
Even most Manchester United fans will admit that Patrice Evra is starting to show his age.
Baines looks the best left back in the Premier League and, coupled with his set-piece ability, ticks a lot of boxes for the champions.

5. Kevin Doyle from Wolves to Fulham
We’d like to believe that Doyle still has what it takes to be a Premier League striker.
Apart from Dimitar Berbatov (15), no Fulham player scored more than five goals last year so it’s a move that would suit both parties.

6. Christian Eriksen from Ajax to Liverpool
The last time Liverpool signed a player from Ajax it didn’t work out too badly for them and the 21-year-old Dane could prove just as crucial.
With Coutinho alongside him, the two may represent Liverpool’s best hopes of returning to the top four.
