IRELAND ARE JUST one win away from qualifying for this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo after a comprehensive semi-final win at the World Rugby Sevens repechage in Monaco.
Anthony Eddy’s side beat Hong Kong 28-5 in the last four, having topped their pool with a 100% win record.
Two Jordan Conroy tries and one from Foster Horan powered Ireland into a commanding half-time lead, before Harry McNulty added a fourth early into the second period to put Hong Kong to the sword, and the result beyond doubt.
France won the earlier semi-final against Samoa, so the sides lock horns in the decider at 6.07pm Irish time (You can watch the action here). A massive opportunity, though a very tough task, lies ahead for the Boys In Green.
The outright winner of the tournament books their ticket to Tokyo, with Ireland looking to make history and qualify for a first-ever Olympic Games.

Earlier today, Ireland produced a three-try victory over Samoa to top Pool A with four wins from four and advance to the semi-finals.
It was a dominant performance from Ireland against a good Samoa side; this simply stunning Terry Kennedy pass which sent Jordan Conroy through for the second try a certain highlight:

Horan and Jack Kelly scored the other Irish tries with Billy Dardis adding extras as the game finished 21-7 at Stade Louis-II.
