THEY TRAVELLED IN the hope of recreating their famous Munster final triumph of 1992 at the Limerick venue but ultimately the Gaelic Grounds was an unhappy hunting ground for the Clare footballers yesterday.
The match was a huge occasion for the Banner men who have not featured in a provincial senior football final since 2000 and have been plying their trade in Division 4 in recent years. They battled bravely but were undone by the concession of three first-half goals as Cork pulled clear on the scoreboard.
