PAUL SCHOLES WILL play with Man United for at least one more year, it has been confirmed.
Speaking to MUTV, Alex Ferguson announced that the player has signed a one-year extension to his current deal.
During the Manchester United Player of the Year dinner, the veteran manager revealed: “It has been done. He is staying.”
Ferguson added that the player now regretted his initial decision to retire last season:
“He knew he had made a mistake. He now realises if he plays 25 or 30 games next season, they will be of real quality.“I think this will be Paul’s last season. We know him very well. We have had him since he was a kid. We know how to use him.”
The midfielder has been in fine form since returning to the club in January, to such an extent that he is now also being linked with a return to international football.
