THE LA KINGS reached the NHL’s western conference final for just the second time in the club’s history thanks to two Dustin Brown goals and Jonathan Quick’s 23 saves against the St. Louis Blues.
Rookie Jordan Nolan scored an early goal for the eight seeded Kings, who have now eliminated the conference’s top two seeds in the same post-season after defeating top-seeded Vancouver in the first round.
Despite this being, perhaps, Los Angeles’ poorest performance of the playoffs, the 3-1 victory was comfortable enough for the Kings who will meet the winners of the Phoenix Coyotes, Nashville Predators. Phoenix currently leads that series 3-1.

In the other NHL game last night, the New Jersey Devils came from 2-0 down to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 and take a 3-1 series lead in their eastern conference semi-final.
Dainius Zubrus scored two goals, while Petr Sykora and Marek Zidlicky added the others for the Devils who have never lost a playoff series after taking a 3-1 lead.
