CLARE, GALWAY, KERRY, Limerick and Monaghan all have players in the running for the latest PWC GAA/GPA Player of the Month awards.
Clare’s Peter Duggan, Galway’s Cathal Mannion and Limerick’s Aaron Gillane are have been shortlisted after their hurling exploits.
Last weekend saw ace free-takers Duggan and Gillane star from placed balls and open play, with respective scoring tallies of 0-14 and 0-13 in their semi-final clashes. Mannion weighed in with 0-4 in their epic semi-final tie with Clare on Saturday evening.
Galway’s Ian Burke, Kerry’s David Clifford and Monaghan’s Conor McManus are the three players in the running for the football award. Burke scored 0-3 between their wins over Kerry and Kildare, with his creativity and ball-winning also integral to Galway’s success.
Clifford struck the vital late goal in Kerry’s draw against Monaghan, after hitting 1-5 the previous week in their tie with Galway. McManus notched 1-9 in a superb showing for Monaghan in that draw in Clones.
The winners will be announced next week but who do you think should be recognised?
