THE FAI ARE set to give away free tickets to fans travelling to the Hungary-Ireland friendly match, it has been announced.
The association say there will be 150 free tickets made available for those intending to travel to the game, which takes place on June 4.
Only a small number of the Irish team’s fans are expected to travel to Budapest, while the team will fly directly to their Euro 2012 base in Poland the following day.
The Association is making the gesture as a means of rewarding these fans for their loyalty.
A small number of free tickets are still available and requests can be made to ticket.office@fai.ie.
Speaking following the announcement, FAI CEO John Delaney said:
“The Irish supporters will be the twelfth man this summer when they travel in record numbers to Poland. Although only a few supporters are expected to travel to Budapest for our match on June 4, this small gesture of 150 free tickets is the least we can do to recognise their huge commitment.”
It has also been announced that Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan on September 7 will take place in Astana.
However, the FAI recommends that supporters intending to travel await official FIFA notification of this venue before making final flight arrangements.

So you’ve no issue playing away as long as ye get Kilkenny?
Does this draw really need to take place now, in October. Make the draw in the new year when people actually have enthusiasm towards the GAA season starting again.
Why no Ulster hurling draw?
Ulster council do there own draw for the hurling.
1 genuinely competitive province in football and 1 in hurling. structures are a joke.
