ENGLAND ARE EXPECTED to appoint Stuart Lancaster as their permanent head coach today, according to reports.
A number of media outlets including the Press Association and the Daily Mail claim that the 42-year-old, who took charge of the position on a temporary basis when Martin Johnson resigned in December after the team’s disastrous World Cup campaign, will be ratified by the RFU this morning with a press conference scheduled for 12.15pm this afternoon.
Lancaster was on a shortlist for the job and sat interviews along with former South Africa and Italy coach Nick Mallett but after a successful Six Nations which saw England finish second with four wins out of five matches, the interim boss is believed to have proved his worth.
