BOHEMIANS HAVE ANNOUNCED the signing of 21-year-old striker Ryan Swan for the 2018 SSE Airtricity League season.
Swan moves to Dalymount Park having spent the second half of the 2017 campaign in the First Division with Cabinteely. He previously had a brief stint in England with Exeter City, which followed spells with UCD and Bray Wanderers.
โRyanโs served his time in the First Division and has done very well,โ said Bohemians manager Keith Long. โItโs a big step-up to the Premier Division but he deserves his chance. Heโs hungry to do well and we believe heโs capable of doing so at this level.
โHeโs a Finglas lad and his dad played for the club. Heโs his own man and a different kind of player but he already has Bohs in his blood. Iโm looking forward to working with him.โ

Swanโs father Derek, who was also a striker, is regarded as a club legend after spending 10 years of his playing career with the Gypsies during two separate spells in the 1980s and 90s.
The highlight of Ryan Swanโs young career so far was arguably UCDโs Europa League campaign in 2015. He scored all three of their goals over the course of ties against Dudelange of Luxembourg and Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava.
The arrival of Swan for the 2018 season boosts Bohsโ attacking options following the recent departure of Izzy Akinade, who has joined newly-promoted Waterford.
Bohs, who finished fifth in the Premier Division this year, now have 22 players contracted for 2018:
Oscar Brennan, Dan Byrne, Dan Casey, Dinny Corcoran, Rob Cornwall, Kevin Devaney, Philip Gannon, Jamie Hamilton, Paddy Kavanagh, Paddy Kirk, JJ Lunney, Cristian Magerusan, Colin McCabe, Eoghan Morgan, Ian Morris, Derek Pender, Fuad Sule, Shane Supple, Ryan Swan, Warren OโHora, Keith Ward, John Ross Wilson.
Doesnโt show much ambition if heโs joining Bohs. Iโd wait another year and hope to be contact be a team with real ambition like Shamrock Rovers.
@Graham McGuinness: Yea Rovers are on a serious upward curve. With their fully professional team and their academy worth millions they managed to finish a whole 7 points!! ahead of the part-time Bohs last season. Theyโre truly going places!
@Graham McGuinness: if that ambition is to be handing out 52 week contracts for 4th place, then knock yourselves out.
Thank God he has replaced that skum Ismaheel! Clean players only please
