FORMER DUNDALK STRIKER Patrick Hoban has rejoined the club, it has been announced today.
The 26-year-old Galway native was the League of Ireland’s joint top scorer in 2014 (with 20 goals) and helped the Lilywhites become Premier Division champions for the first time in 19 years under Stephen Kenny.
That earned him a move to Oxford United where he struggled to make an impact and loan spells to Stevanage and Grimsby Town followed.
After his release by Oxford, Hoban joined Mansfield Town — where he scored six goals in 24 appearances last term. However, he has been a free agent since leaving the Stags back in May.
The centre forward could be set to replace David McMillan, who is reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Scottish club St Johnstone.
Dundalk have also secured the services of centre-half Stephen Folan and full-back Dean Jarvis.
Folan arrives from relegated Galway United, but he has previously lined out for Cork City, Sligo Rovers and Limerick.
Jarvis began his professional career with Aberdeen before returning home to sign for Institute in 2011. For the past four years, he’s been plying his trade at Derry City.
