CLARE HURLING DEFENDER Brendan Bugler has brought his 11-year senior career with the Banner to a close.
The 32-year-old has confirmed his decision today after a career that saw him claim All-Ireland senior hurling glory in 2013, along with winning All-Star awards in 2012 and 2013.
The Whitegate club man started out with Clare in 2007 and featured in the Munster hurling final in 2008.
He was one of the few players from that side to still be involved for more recent Clare glory days in 2013 when they lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup and in 2016 when they were crowned hurling league champions.
In 2012 he won his first All-Star award, the only Clare hurler selected on that yearโs team and the first from the Banner county since 2006.
Then in 2013, Bugler was one of eight Clare hurlers honoured after a glorious year for the county.
He was part of the Clare squad this season that contested the Munster hurling final against Cork before they lost at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage to Tipperary.

Some servant to Clare used to love watching him play ,his passion for the Jersey was monumental and thatโs coming from a tipp fan
The game will miss his fist pumps
The game will miss his red cards
A great hurler . Best of luck in the future
Big mistake he wasnโt picked to play against tipp with Dave mc injured, his steel & warrior like approach not to mention his experience could & probably would have got us over the line. Management were slow on big decisions this yr.
@Sean Oโdowd: Tipp were the better side.
