ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS Dublin lead the way with 12 players nominated for the 2017 TG4 All-Stars with defeated finalists Mayo receiving six nominations.
Lidl National League Division 1 champions Cork are the second most represented county on the shortlist, with nine players honoured.
The 45-player shortlist has been released today, and the winners will be announced on Saturday 25 November at a gala banquet at Dublin’s Citywest Hotel.
Ulster champions and league finalists Donegal have five players included, Munster victors Kerry have three, and Armagh and Waterford have two nominees a-piece.
All-Ireland intermediate champions Tipperary and runners-up Tyrone, along with Cavan, Galway, Monaghan and Sligo each have one player nominated.
Seven of last year’s All-Star winning team are again nominated for accolades on this occasion – Dublin’s Leah Caffrey, Noelle Healy, Carla Rowe and Sinéad Aherne, Cork duo Ciara O’Sullivan and Orla Finn, and Mayo’s Fiona McHale are all in contention again.
Mayo forward Cora Staunton could be awarded a record-equaling 11th All-Star award on the night.
