EACH WEEK ON Close Calls with eir Sport, we preview one of the weekend’s biggest events — and they don’t come much bigger than this.
On Sunday, Dublin and Mayo will add another chapter to what has been the defining Gaelic football rivalry of the past five years.
And no matter who wins on Sunday (it’ll be a draw, won’t it?), it’s going to be historic: either a Dublin three-in-a-row, the county’s first in nearly 100 years, or the end of Mayo’s 66 years in the house of pain since their last All-Ireland victory all the way back in 1951.
Gavan Casey and Fintan O’Toole will hear today from three men who know all about these Dublin and Mayo sides: former Mayo footballer Billy Joe Padden, recently-retired Tyrone great Sean Cavanagh, and five-time All-Ireland winner Marc Ó Sé of Kerry.
Send us your questions for Billy Joe, or your predictions, and we’ll put your name in the hat to win money-can’t-buy 42 gear: our Snapback baseball cap, and our brand new varsity jacket.
The42′s Close Calls, supported by eir Sport, is broadcast live on Facebook every Friday afternoon.
