THE DRAW FOR the FAI Cup semi-finals has taken place this evening.
Having picked up a 4-1 win over Longford Town on Saturday, 2016 champions Cork City have been handed a Munster derby at home to Limerick – through to the last four for the first time in 23 years thanks to a 2-1 victory over Galway United.
That tie will take place on Friday, 29 September (7.15pm) and it will be live on RTÉ2.
Meanwhile, last year’s beaten finalists Dundalk, who had a 4-0 win over Louth rivals Drogheda in the quarter-finals, will host Shamrock Rovers at Oriel Park on Sunday, 1 October (also live on RTÉ2).
The Hoops saw off the last non-League of Ireland club — Bluebell United — last Friday and Stephen Bradley’s men will be aiming to secure their first appearance in the final since 2010.
The winners of both games are set to face off at the Aviva Stadium on 5 November.
