CAMBRIDGE UNITED HAVE joined the growing trend of football clubs using quirky social media videos to reveal new players.
The League Two side this morning announced the signing of Republic of Ireland goalkeeper David Forde on an initial one-year contract.
Forde is set to replace 23-year-old Will Norris, who left Cambridge earlier this month to join Wolves. Apparently Donald Trump, Liam Gallagher and Conor McGregor are among those who’ll be delighted to hear the news.

Forde, who has been capped 24 times by his country, joins Cambridge after spending last season with Portsmouth, who he helped to win the League Two title.
“Everyone has been very positive about progress at the club, what we hope to bring this season and going into the future,” Forde told Cambridge United’s official website. “The club obviously just missed out on the play-offs last year, and I have my own ambitions to get another promotion again, so that was a big part in making my decision.
“The squad have already had a large portion of pre-season together, so it’s important for me to now get some game time under my belt, and start to integrate into the club. I want to be able to hit the ground running and use my experience to get into the swings of things quickly.”
The 37-year-old Galway native, who made over 300 appearances during a decade at Millwall, started in Ireland’s first four Euro 2016 qualifiers but was ultimately left out of the squad for last summer’s tournament in France.
“Once Will [Norris] departed for Wolves, we decided that we would aim to bring in an experienced goalkeeper. There was one stand-out candidate,” said Cambridge United head coach Shaun Derry.
“David arrives with a glowing CV that very recently has a League Two winner’s medal attached to it. He showed last season that not only is he a prime goalkeeper but a terrific leader too.”
