GOLFING AUTHORITIES HAVE decided to reduce the Qatar Masters to 54 holes, after play in the region was restricted to three hours on Friday due to strong winds.
However, organisers are optimistic that further significant disruptions will be avoided.
Speaking to reporters, tournament director David Probyn said:
“The winds will be down [on Saturday] and decreasing during the day.”
Scotland’s Paul Lawrie currently leads on 8 under, while Nicolas Colsaerts is one shot behind him.
Ireland’s representatives, meanwhile, are well behind the leading pack, with Graeme McDowell tied for 64th position.
