RAFAEL NADAL COASTED to a record 10th French Open title with an emphatic victory over Stan Wawrinka.
Nadal triumphed 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 to become the first man in history to win the same major 10 times, and earn his 15th Grand Slam crown.
His collection of Slams now stands just three behind his great rival Roger Federer.
Playing in his 22nd Grand Slam final, Nadal prevailed in Paris without dropping a set for a third time.
Meanwhile, it was a first defeat for Wawrinka in a major final, after overcoming Andy Murray to book his place in todayโs decider.
Speaking after his impressive victory, Nadal said:
โItโs really unbelievable, to win the 10th is incredible, itโs very special. Iโd like to thank all of you today.
โIโm very emotional. I try my best in all the events but the feeling I have here is impossible to describe.
โFor me, the nerves, the adrenaline I feel when I play on this court is impossible to compare.
โItโs the most important event in my career, so to win here is something I cannot describe.โ

Fair few deserve less than 5, which seems to be some sort of lower threshold for some reason
@Mark Nother: canโt justify 5 for most of them, realistically a 3 or below
@Ian McLoughlin: Doherty got the gate and still picked up a 5.
A manager who cant get the best out of the players he has usually gets sacked in the end.He is a decent guy doing his best but unfortunately he doesnโt seem to be able to motivate these players to perform at a level to win games. Our defending tonight was really poor.
@Leo O Hara: yeah but heโs cheap.
Those ratings are a joke, most would get a 3 , bar Bazanu, Collins and Egan a 5 for those. Idah, oโdowda and Molumby a 2 at most. Kenny a 1. We made an average side look like prime Croatia.
