IRELAND MANAGER MARTIN OโNeill was in typically acerbic form on Match of the Day last night.
The Derry native was in the BBC studio to watch his former side Leicester take on Derby in an FA Cup fourth-round replay.
As the cameras focused on Rams boss Steve McClaren giving his half-time team talk, OโNeill commented that he would not allow cameras in the dressing room if he was manager.
Savage, who played under the Irish boss at Leicester, added that there were times that he didnโt want OโNeill in the dressing room at half-time when he was a player.
The ex-Wales international added: โYou always used to have a go at me (at half-time).โ
The veteran managerโs response, of course, was cutting: โThere had to be a reason. Generally speaking, because you werenโt passing the ball to our players.โ
OโNeill also had a gentle dig at BBC co-commentator Graeme Le Saux. Upon noting that the former England international was enjoying what he thought was a dour first half, OโNeill said that his colleague needs โto get out a bit moreโ.
