AND THEN THERE were four.
Corofin, Dr Crokes, St Vincent’s and Slaughtneil will contest the All-Ireland club SFC semi-finals on February 11, 2017.
In the new year we’ve got Corofin v Crokes and Vincent’s v Slaughtneil to look forward to. All four clubs have serious pedigree.
St Vincent’s (3), Corofin (2) and Crokes (1) have all won All-Ireland club titles in the past. The Marino club last won the All-Ireland in 2014, while Corofin won their second crown a year later. Crokes are back in the last four having won three straight Munster titles between 2011 and 2013.
Derry champions Slaughtneil are the least experienced of the three sides at this level, but even they have won two Ulster crowns in the last three years.
Corofin are the bookies’ favourites to lift the Andy Merrigan Cup on St Patrick’s Day, followed closely by the Vinnies.
