FORMER IRELAND INTERNATIONAL Ray Brady passed away at the age of 79 in November. The Dubliner, the elder brother of fellow international and RTÉ pundit Liam, won six caps for Ireland between 1963 and 1964.

Brazil’s 1970 World Cup-winning captain was widely regarded as one of the finest defenders of his time. Carlos Alberto was most fondly remembered for scoring the stunning fourth goal in Brazil’s 4-1 final win over Italy at Mexico 1970. He passed away aged 72 in October.
Michael ‘Milo’ Corcoran
Corcoran served as FAI President from 2001 to 2005 and also served five years as vice-president of the association. He was a staunch supporter of the League of Ireland and was a regular at his beloved Waterford United, where he served a variety of roles including club chairman, and was the club’s representative on the League Committee in the 1980s and 1990s.

Described by the Football Association of Ireland as ‘one of the greatest football people this country has produced’, Liam Tuohy died at the age of 83 in August. The Dubliner first made his mark as a member of Shamrock Rovers’ superb teams of the 1950s and 1960s, with whom he won three four titles and an incredible eight FAI Cups.
