'Nan, I did it!' - Annalise Murphy got a hero's welcome as she arrived home this afternoon

Memories to last a lifetime.

FOR ANYONE WHO followed Annalise Murphyโ€™s pursuit of Olympic glory in Rio, youโ€™ll be acutely aware of the role her family have played along the way.

But there was one member of the Murphy clan who wasnโ€™t on the waterโ€™s edge at Guanabara Bay last week for that indelible moment when Annalise came ashore having secure Olympic silver.

So there were unimaginably happy โ€” and emotional โ€” scenes in Dublin Airport earlier as Annaliseโ€™s grandmother, Betty Murphy, greeted her on arrival.

How is that typical โ€˜ruggerโ€™ humour? He made a valid observation (the jersey is swimming on him), and made a joke about it.

What used journalists actually do in the days before they could copy very boring stories straight off of twitter?
