BRAZILIAN POLICE HAVE arrested a Moroccan boxer for allegedly sexually assaulting two female cleaners in the Olympic Village in Rio de Janeiro.
In a statement released on Friday afternoon, police say officers arrested 22-year-old Hassan Saada on suspicion of committing the assaults on Wednesday.
He was due to compete in the preliminary rounds of the Men’s light heavyweight division on Saturday against Turkey’s Mehmet Nadir.
Police say Saada will be jailed for a period of 15 days while they conduct a rape investigation, although he can be held for longer under Brazilian law.
