ANTRIM ADVANCED TO an All-Ireland semi-final meeting with Waterford after their Bord Gáis Energy Ulster U21 hurling final win over Derry tonight.
In the end Antrim had four points to spare in the game played in Loughgiel as they claimed a 0-16 to 1-9 victory.
The result sees them advance to a semi-final tie with newly-crowned Munster champions Waterford on 20 August.
Dublin will take on Galway in the other semi-final with a venue yet to be decided for games that are likely to be a double-header.
Derry had got to an ideal start in tonight’s game with Cormac O’Doherty firing home a goal in the early stages. That score provided the platform for Derry to go on to claim a 1-5 to 0-4 interval advantage.
But Antrim emerged strongly in the second-half with a Cormac Ross point leaving the sides level at 1-7 to 0-10 entering the final quarter.
They outscored Derry by 0-6 to 0-2 in the final quarter with Maoi Connolly, Saul McCaughan and Christy McNaughton all hitting key points.
