MANCHESTER CITY ARE set for a triple deal involving Leroy Sané and a pair of South American players – Gabriel Jesus and Marlos Moreno.
The Schalke attacker could cost as much as £40 million with Jesus – a 19-year-old Brazilian – and Moreno worth about £30 million combined.
It would appear that Manchester United are in the driving seat regarding Paul Pogba but Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was playing some mind games when quizzed on the French midfielder.
“Until 31 August, anything can happen”, Zidane said.
The rascal.
Despite Juventus having everything their own way over the last few weeks – playing hardball with United over Pogba, racking up a litany of high-profile signings – they may not get everything they want.
Former coach Antonio Conte has said midfielder Nemanja Matic – a rumoured target for the Old Lady – is not for sale.
Elsewhere, Arsenal are growing increasingly frantic in the transfer market. They need a striker before the season starts but have been turned away in their quest to lure Lyon’s Alex Lacazette to North London.
So, they may now make a move for 25-year-old Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder. Sevilla are also in the mix for the £8m-rated player. Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lacazette have scored for goals in Ligue 1 than him over the last four seasons.
But let’s hope he’s not another Marouane Chamakh.
Meanwhile, Everton look set to sign Idrissa Gueye from Aston Villa. The Toffees have triggered the release cause in the midfielder’s contract – thought to be worth £7.2 million.
