PรDRAIG HARRINGTON HAS found his touch on the Castle Stuart links to put himself in contention heading into the weekend at the Scottish Open.
His second round of 69 was one lower than yesterday and the Dubliner sits three shots off the lead, which is currently held by Swedenโs Alex Noren.
Harrington impressed again and although his card was blemished by two bogeys โ one on each nine โ he finds himself well placed as he goes in search of his first win since March 2015.
The three-time Major winner recorded three birdies before the turn on Friday, demonstrating all his nous on a links track ahead of next weekโs Open at Royal Troon.
He moved within one of the lead with a birdie on 13 but a bogey was sandwiched in between further birdies on 16 and 18.
The 44-year-old picked up shots on the second and sixth but a dropped shot on the par four seventh saw him finish on five-under par.
Graeme McDowell is also going well and is in a tie for eighth with Harrington.
Both Shane Lowry and Paul Dunne will head to Royal Troon a bit earlier than they would have liked after missing the cut.
Meanwhile, Irelandโs next generation of golfers are being called upon to enter the prestigious Dublin Boysโ golf competition, which is supported by Allianz and Paul McGinley.
The annual, 36 hole event takes place on Monday 18 July and is open to U16 players with a handicap of 16 and under.
