THE DUBLIN DISTRICT Schoolboy League voted to switch to a summer season during the week and while the move has been generally welcomed, Nial de Brun said what we were all thinking.

The week’s big story revolved around events at Old Trafford, with Man United sacking Louis van Gaal and appointing Jose Mourinho as his successor. It’s not quite Hollywood material yet but as ‘Lad‘ pointed out, it has all the makings of a thrilling drama.

“Can’t remember if it was the day of my grandfathers funeral or the removal but that game in 2001 when McAteer scored was on. My da, uncles, cousins all had tickets for the game. Westmeath stunned Kilkenny in their Leinster U21 hurling quarter-final on Wednesday and for those in attendance it was a game to remember. John Carroll was one of those fortunate to witness it.
