HAS IRELAND EVER seen a telly hero quite like Bill O’Herlihy?
The beloved sports broadcaster, remembered for his catchphrases and jumpers as well as his place at the centre of some of Ireland’s greatest soccer moments, passed away last year.
On Monday evening at 7.30 RTÉ’s Cloch le Carn series will look back on Bill’s life, and they’ve released two brilliantly nostalgic vidoes, one as Ireland prepared to face England in their first ever world cup finals match at Italia 90.
The other features half time analysis during that infamous Ireland v England game in Stuttgart at Euro ’88.
The jumpers!
The lads!
That set!

If only I had a DeLorean time machine, good times
Typical. Always gravitating to ancient history as there is nothing to give any pride in the present.
I suppose that beating the reigning world champions wouldn’t be good enough for you.
Gerard seen some stupid comments before but that’s just epic.
