THEY DON’T MAKE them like they used to, do they?
Paul Scholes has had a lot to say about Manchester United recently and when you see footage like this, you can understand why he’s been so motivated to speak out about the flat, limp performances delivered under Louis van Gaal.
Everything about this goal is made to look so easy: David Beckham’s deft pass to the edge of the area, Scholes’ absolutely thumping volley and the way Dwight Yorke moves out of the way as the shot fizzes past his right ear. It all looks so rehearsed.
And it probably was.
Hard to believe this took place sixteen years ago against Bradford.
Where do you think it ranks in the pantheon of Scholes’ greatest goals?
