CONNACHT AND IRELAND have received a big boost with the news that Robbie Henshaw is set to return to action this weekend.
Pat Lam’s side will likely need a win at home to Enisei-STM on Saturday to have any chance of booking their place in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals, and Henshaw should be ready to make his return from a hand injury.
The centre is due to have one final surgical review on Friday where he is expected to get the green light from doctors to play.
His return will also be welcomed by Joe Schmidt as he starts to firm up plans for Ireland’s Six Nations opener against Wales on 7 February.
Scrum-half Kieran Marmion is also due to return for Connacht having missed the defeat against Brive with a hip pointer injury.
Hooker Jason Harris-Wright is currently going through the return to play protocols but Eoin McKeon (hip), Darragh Leader (wrist) and Craig Ronaldson (shoulder) are all ruled out.
