Five-time All-Ireland winner Bryan Sheehan will captain Kerry this season

St Mary’s clubman previously captained Kingdom to the 2010 Munster title.

BRYAN SHEEHAN HAS been nominated as Kerry football captain for 2016.

The five-time All-Ireland winner was put forward by county champions South Kerry following their win in November’s final.

Sheehan, 30, previously captained Kerry to a Munster title during Jack O’Connor’s second term in 2010.

The 2016 campaign will be his 12th senior season in green and gold, with 60 appearances and 6-153 in championship scores already to his name.

His nomination will be ratified at the next meeting of the Kerry County Committee, a statement said on Sunday evening.
