PAUL O’CONNELL WAS unveiled as a Toulon player at a press conference this week with many Irish rugby fans finding it difficult to accept the great man sporting a different red jersey.
Reader Ger Casey summed it up brilliantly with this remark:
“Seeing him in that Toulon jersey is like seeing your mother with another man. Awful stuff lol.”
There was a prevailing sense of sadness, particularly down the south of the country, as Paulie lined out in the Toulon kit, as James explained:
“Half of Munster just saw that photo ran to their bedroom slamming the door turned on an Adel album and cryed into their pillow.”
Tuesday’s ‘Billo’ featured an image of Niall Quinn alongside model Daniella Moyles and a horse…
Edward liked what he saw:
“I literally came to this article for the picture of a horse with Niall Quinn inside a golf club.”
The week’s other big story was Chelsea’s sacking of Jose Mourinho. The club are actively looking for his successor, but Rob Morgan may have the ideal candidate in mind:
“Give it to JT – it’s be like an episode of Dream Team, with Terry as Louis Amor Rodriguez…”
RTÉ this week confirmed they are inviting expressions of interest for a sub-licencing agreement with a fellow Irish broadcaster for a share of the rights for Euro 2016.
They posted the Invitation to Tender on their website but Sean MacC made a very good point:
“Could they not just have made the three phone calls rather than the effort of putting on the website?”
