TWO OF THE six candidates to replace Anthony Cunningham as Galway senior hurling manager pulled out of the race this week.
Former minor and U21 boss John Hardiman and outgoing U21 manager Johnny Kelly have both confirmed that they won’t be letting their names go forward for interview.
That leaves four contenders in the running for the vacant senior post, with Michael Donoghue and Mattie Kenny the favourites with the bookmakers.
Donoghue guided Clarinbridge to All-Ireland club glory in 2011 and he was also a member of the Galway team that won the 1993 All-Ireland U21 hurling championship.
Donoghue also played for Clarinbridge in their 2002 All-Ireland club final defeat to Birr, and is a brother of former Galway goalkeeper Liam.
Kenny, a former selector alongside Cunningham, was the mastermind behind Cuala’s Dublin SHC success this year.
Roscommon boss Justin Campbell and former Galway star Gerry McInerney are also nominated for the position.
But who do you think will take over the reins with the Tribesmen?
