STORM DESMOND HAS wreaked havoc around the country over the past week.
But when heavy rainfall resulted in flooding in Cork as the River Lee burst its banks, Ireland’s top wakeboarder David O’Caoimh decided to take advantage of the rare opportunity.
The 21-year-old Dubliner went winching on Sunday and captured it on video.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “When Cork floods, I wakeboard. Thank you #StormDesmond”
Thank you Storm Desmond. Thanks for a bit of perspective. I thought the millions of euros of flood damage would be the main focus of people. I forgot about the feast of opportunities for wakeboarders. I feel better now.
plenty of articles about the damage you want to focus on. hope your weren’t feeling too bad……
There’s always one prat looking for his 15 minutes of fame…
What would Teresa Mansion say?.
The ESB had advised discharge from the Inniscarra Dam was increased to 180 cubic m per sec. If this muppet had made one small mistake and got thrown into the main channel he was history .
Amazes me the stupidity of some people and whats makes it more laughable is they post there proud moment on the internet for the world to see.
Parents must be really embarrassed to have reared such a moron !
Looks like a blast to me!
Awesome
56views on YouTube? well the original video posted on David’s Facebook profile has 89,000+ views.

Is there a difference between a water in the river to flood water on land? Or is he just looking for attention…I’m gonna gamble on the latter
If he’s our top boarder, well obviously we not very good at it
He’s ranked number 4 in the world
