Manuel Pellegrini has leapt to the defence of Jose Mourinho

The Chelsea boss is the latest Premier League manager to see his job come under scrutiny.

MANUEL PELLEGRINI HAS hit out at the impatience of Premier League club owners as pressure mounts on Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

A 1-0 defeat to Stoke City on Saturday has left Mourinho, who missed the match due to a stadium ban, fighting for his job at Stamford Bridge despite having guided the club to Premier League and League Cup glory last season.

Pellegrini himself saw his position come under scrutiny as Manchester City failed to defend their title, while speculation linking Pep Guardiola with his job has continued into the current campaign.

“I read every day that Chelsea will sack Mourinho,” Pellegrini said ahead of City’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa. “It has also happened to [Manchester United boss Louis] Van Gaal and me.

“Things have changed and I don’t understand why owners are so impatient. If I was an owner, I’d choose a manager to stay for three years and see out his contract – and then decide [on his future].

“Several years ago in England, most clubs in the Premier League had patience with their managers.

“That is changing. And it is not just difficult for young managers – it is difficult for all managers. The longer you can be at a club, the better it is for the manager – and for the club.

“Having a manager like Arsene Wenger, in the way that he works for a long time, means that that his club will improve.”

This is again about the money, these owners are putting so much cash in that they feel they have the right to sack a manager whenever they want.,which they do.

What a load of “Bollix”…. what have Arsenal won in the last 10 years. Premiership football is crap and hard to watch 90 mins of same. We have to endure Managers who can’t speak English fluently and think that they are as smart as “Smartypants” and deliver dribble with their summation.
I wish they would all Feck off…

Look at what Arsenal have spent in those ten years compared to City, Chelsea and United and are challenging every season.

Wenger is under rated if anything.

@dead ball arrogant deluded w@nker. What have Arsenal achieved??? Judging by your stupid bigoted response your jealous of Arsenal achievements under a strict budget, selling best players to rivals, funding a multi million stadium, average teams, and consistently in the top 4!! You haven’t a clue mate, glory hunting tool.

What have Arsenal won the past few years?! 2 FA cups the past 2 years, that’s what. True, they hadn’t won the league, but they have won more than some teams.
