DROGHEDA UNITED HAVE appointed former UCD and St Pat’s boss Pete Mahon as their new manager until the end of the season, after Mark Kinsella was forced to step down.
With the club inching towards relegation, Kinsella stepped aside from the role after his 60-day reign as caretaker manager came to an end, in accordance with the league’s official guidelines.
Mahon will consequently be in charge for club’s crucial game on Friday away to Shamrock Rovers.
A statement from the club added: “Pete was Mark’s first choice option with the two having already worked together this season and with Pete being familiar with both the players and the Club.”
