Coast-to-coast in 20 seconds: The Pumas showed their claws today

Are we absolutely sure this is the team we want Ireland to meet in the quarter-finals.

BEFORE IRELAND WENT and claimed a shaky win over Italy, their potential quarter-final opponents (if Joe Schmidt’s men can beat France and top Pool D) came up with some brilliant attacking moves to see off Tonga in Leicester.

We would whole-heartedly advise you to watch the full highlights because there are some brilliant scores in there, but the pick of the litter was Argentina’s second.

After Joaquin Tuculet put the Pumas ahead in  the 20th minute, Tonga soon find themselves trudging back umder their posts for the second time in as many minutes as Santiago Cordero’s electric pace kick-started a sweeping attacking move from his own 22.

One breakdown, four passes and 20 seconds after Cordero caught the Tongan restart, Juan Imhoff was touching down after showing and going through the scrambling defenders.

The improvement in Argentina in the last 10 years is unreal. They’ll be some match for Ireland or France

With the Way Argentina are playing you’d almost want to play the All Blacks ahead of them with their lacklustre performances ( we were just as bad today ). But they are the All Blacks & there’s a reason they’re number 1 for so long also are stats against them aren’t positive either.
