EMMET ÓG KILLOE are celebrating back-to-back county titles this evening after they saw off Abbeylara in the Longford SFC final.
The holders ran out three-point winners, 1-14 to 1-11, in the decider in Pearse Park.
Meanwhile in Derry, Slaughtneil’s footballers completed a magnificent ‘double-double’ against Eoghan Rua Coleraine.
Dual county champions in 2014, Sé McGuigan’s goal proved decisive as last year’s beaten All-Ireland finalists won 1-7 to 0-9 to follow up on their recent hurling success.
And in Louth, Aidan McCann’s goal helped St Patrick’s retain their county crown with a 1-14 to 0-9 win against Sean O’Mahony’s.
There are back-to-back celebrations in Kildare this evening as well after holders Coill Dubh defended their crown with a 0-15 to 1-10 win against Ardclough.
And in the Wicklow hurling decider, Bray Emmets saw off the challenge of Carnew Emmets with a 1-17 to 1-9 win in Aughrim.
