Tyrone 1-10
Meath 0-11
PETER HARTE’S SECOND-HALF penalty proved decisive as Tyrone advanced to Round 3B of the All-Ireland football qualifiers at Meath’s expense.
Mikey Harte’s side overturned a half-time deficit to run out two-point winners at Healy Park and inflict more woe on a Meath outfit still reeling from their Croke Park defeat to Westmeath.
Harte converted from the spot on 54 minutes and further points from Mark Bradley, Ronan McNabb and Tiernan McCann guided the Red Hand county to victory as they go in search of a first All-Ireland since 2008.
Meath, meanwhile, will be left to reflect on a disastrous fortnight which has seen their interest in this year’s championship end at the qualifier stage.
