AFTER A DISAPPOINTING third season in charge of Galway’s senior hurlers, John McIntyre faced the firing squad on Tuesday night and survived — for the moment at least.
The Tribesmen’s boss presented a comprehensive review of the season to the county board, outlining his own disappointment with the team’s performance in both league and Championship.
Afterwards, Galway Hurling Board chairman Joe Byrne said that no other candidates had been approached to take over from McIntyre (yet), but that the county’s clubs would need time to reflect on his position.
